New Things for the New Year

This year I am feeling pretty excited to be picking up some old habits and starting with some new.  I’m now feeling almost normal (meaning, not sick all day) and have a lot more ambition to make small changes.  If you can remember from previous posts, I seriously was lacking in motivation.  Motivation to even decorate, can you believe that?

So, thank you Lord, I am about 17 weeks along now and having some energy!

Here is my list of things I’m tackling.  They are very attainable and I’m excited about that.

  • I am getting back into is the Fly Lady Routine. I don’t do everything she does, but I do most of it and it really keeps my home from getting out of hand as far as clutter and dirt goes.  It’s just maintenance and I love it.
  • I am making sure to do is keep up with reading my Bible.  Unfortunately, I’m not good at this.  I’m great with devotions and such, but I know I’m missing out on some serious meat!  I’m sure this year I won’t all of a sudden be reading my Bible in depth every day, but I at least want to make a goal to be better with that.  After all, there is only one book that’s above reproach.
  • I’ve mentioned her before, but I do love the Simple Mom blog.  I’m not up for living as simply as she does (it’s just not my style) but she sure is inspriring and I love her ideas.  She posted once about creating an Inspiration Board and I’m going to be working on that these next two weeks.  I’m looking forward to sharing with you the final product!
  • I’m also going to follow the Simple Mom’s Book Club.  I’m excited!  She’s got some great books on the agenda and the first one looks like a good one.  It’s titled “Your Money or Your Life” and I just ordered it.  You should do it with me :)
  • The last thing I’ve committed to doing is recycling.  Wish me luck.

Anything on your list this year for 2009?

  1. Beth… I know you will be able to accomplish all of these things… including recycling…. it was hard for me to do when Tim and I moved in together.. but after some time… and some cans/plastic “accidentally” ending up in the regular trash… it’s like second nature to me now…. You can do it!!!

  2. Sounds like some good goals for the year. I’m a slacker! I haven’t even got a list of goals together. I want to; don’t want to fly by the seat of my pants like I did last year!
