Heartfelt Picture
My childhood friend (and best friend for a lifetime), Becky, has a brother Jon (www.jonathanhardesty.com) who just visited Africa on a mission trip. They spent some time at an orphanage and here is a really sweet picture that I stole from: http://www.mindcandyman.com/orphan_pics/ (thanks!)

Wow, his paintings and drawings are amazing! A true fine artist. BTW, I couldn’t get the second link (Mind Candy Man) to work.
Nice picture. His art is wonderful too. I saw he taught but is in TX.
second link didn’t work for me either
His art astounds me. I mean, I was gawking as if at a Michelangelo. ANd the second link worked fine for me. Love the pictures of the happy kids. Who’s the lady–is that your friend Becky? She looks so caring and very loved by the children. The kids are dressed better than I expected. The photo you posted is a true keeper!
I fixed the link so that you are able to view all of the orphans pictures. I know that Jon and his team brought toys (the kids didn’t even know how to play with them) and they let them play in their hotel’s pool which they LOVED. They said that the kids don’t get baths in clean water because clean water is for drinking. Yes, Jon is an AMAZING artist. In fact, all of his siblings are as well. My friend Becky (not in any of those pictures) is a wonderful artist and has made many things for my kids walls
and her other brother Dan is a really great artist moreso with animation. They are all brilliant. Jon’s work sells in art galleries and goes for big $. I’m so proud of him! He was my little sister’s boyfriend at one time (I think they were 11!). He has since moved on (ha!) and married Marie (I have her blog linked) and they live in Texas. Thanks for commenting everyone.
Beth, thank you for your sweet comments on my blog. My husband went to Africa a few years ago for a mission trip (to Uganda) and has heart for the children there. I’ll have to come back and show him your blog when he gets home.
beautiful.
Wow, he’s got some major talent and major heart. It’s so nice that he’s using them to bless others.
